Payet is the most gifted footballer I've ever seen in a West Ham shirt

Re: Dimitri
An absolute gem of a player who makes an already decent team so much better whenever he's playing. He just makes things happen.

To get him and Lanzini (when he signs permanently) for just over £18m is incredible business in this day and age. I really have no idea why Payet wasn't on the radar of many big clubs all over Europe but so pleased he seemingly wasn't.

Re: Dimitri
On Monday against Southampton I was in a box for the first time at the Boleyn. And it just so happened to be right next to Dimitri Payet's box which was filled up with his family and friends.
He was sat alongside me for most of the game, resplendent in diamante studded baseball boots - nice!
I asked him how he was (said he was fine) and wished him well, but other than that left him alone. Came across as a thoroughly pleasant bloke.
But what I liked was the reaction of his family to the game. They were all totally into it and were behaving like real fans, especially the ladies. Absolutely screaming their heads off they were. Not something I'd expected, and genuinely refreshing to see.

Re: Dimitri
No for me it should be midfield Payet, Lanzini, Zarate and Kouyate with Sakho and Carroll up front

Re: Dimitri
Me too, cunts for editing it out, why would you not want to show that?
Gurantee if it was one of their favorite clubs or player they'd have shown it from every angle in slow mo and discussed it's brilliance for 5 mins.

Re: Dimitri
Brooking is by some distance the best player I have seen playing for us. Sublime skill and strength and he did it consistantly for us year in year out. A real gent and one club man who stuck with us even after relegation.

Yep 13 ~ I was fuming

I said to the missus (who doesn't like football) "Watch this bit of skill coming up now!"

Probably one of the greatedt bits of skill all season & they managed to edit it out!

MOTD didn't even bother showing his humiliation of 3 Liverpool players.

Gonna name my 1st born after him. Dimitri if a boy. Payet if a girl.

Sorted.

The essential difference between Payet and PDC is that Dimitri is not as mad as a hatter.

Re: Dimitri
Payet may be better than Di Canio but I doubt the bond Paolo had with the fans and club will ever be matched for a while.

Nice loop of his masterful cameo in the middle yesterday. :)

Re: Dimitri
The truly amazing thing about Payet yesterday is that it was like instead of an injury that kept him out for a month he'd gone off at half-time and come back on fro the second half.

First touch, nearly set up a goal after mugging off a bunch of millionaire players, second touch a lovely ball that Carroll almost converted and so on.

Absolutely fucking amazing. I haven't been clucking for a game to come around like I am now for years and years.

Re: Dimitri
Reminds me of Devonshire with his mazy runs and touch, but he's got more to prove for me, such as winning us some silverware, before I can state he is the best I've seen in a West Ham shirt.
Awesome player though.

Re: Dimitri
As one pundit said yesterday (can't remember who)... Payet's Zidane turns yesterday weren't for show, he was holding up play and giving himself thinking time before laying the ball off..... absolutely superb!!

( I Sky +d the match yesterday... I think it was Michael Owen after the match who said it but it may have been on MotD?)

More importantly lets thank the owners for getting them in.

Re: Dimitri
A good reception 'even before stepping on the pitch'. I thought it a little OTT to be honest. clap the player off the pitch and then sing his name when he is actually on!

That sort of thing can fuck other players right off, who have put in a shift to win the game..

Just saying like..

Re: Dimitri

I'm in my 30's and saw Di canio's career from start to finish. Di Canio was my all time favourite (I'd have him over Tevez during his time)

I think Payet is a far better player.
